Message From AGT President

The Association of Government Toxicologists (AGT), which has been in existence for more than 27 years, is not only for Toxicologists. We are an association of government employed scientists beyond Toxicologists that embrace the intricacies of Toxicology at large. Today toxicology is not performed in a vacuum – many scientific disciplines include aspects of toxicology. With this mind set, we meet in an informal atmosphere to exchange ideas, share some food, and learn something new during a seminar by one of the experts in the field. The AGT meetings are a chance to mingle with scientists from the other federal agencies, make new professional contacts, and/or renew the old ones by reconnecting with fellow professionals. We hope you join us for one of our up-coming seminars and consider becoming a member. Should you be interested, AGT is also a good forum to develop and practice leadership functions through serving on the AGT board. It is with great pleasure that I assume the function of AGT’s president (2010-2011). I invite our members to contact me with ideas and suggestions to bring the Association’s mission closer to you and your Agency. Let us know of issues in the wide-ranging field of Toxicology that may be of interest to other government employees. Through discussion and exchange of professional expertise we strengthen our understanding of toxicology-related issues we are faced with daily.
